In Language Arts, we've been discussing subjects and predicates and everything that makes a sentence a sentence. This week we have been distinguishing the difference between fact and opinion statements as a whole class. Individual skills and reading strategies are worked on during reading groups.
In Math, we have been hard at work with 3 digit computation skills, including adding money. We will be beginning multiplication next week.
As you know, we have finished our Human Body Unit in Science A, and are on to exploring the sea! This unit will be packed with fun projects and activities so that last few weeks of school will be very exciting. If anyone has any shoeboxes at home that you could donated to our class, I would really appreciate it.
In Science B, we are finishing up our muscles and bones study and will be discussing the nervous system coming up.
Our current Writer's Workshop unit is on Descriptive Writing. We have been experimenting with adding detail to our writing to create vivid pictures in the minds of our readers. We'll be learning about similies to help with descriptions next week.
