This Week in Primary A:
In Language Arts, we are learning about homophones and multiple meaning words. Students are continuing to work on their individual skills in reading groups.
Homework: Sort spelling words. Record nightly reading times on your March Reading Log.
In Math, we are learning measurement. We have practiced measuring in inches, feet, yards, centimeters, and meters. We will begin measuring capacity this week. You'll need to know cups, pints, quarts, and gallons.
In Science, we have begun a new unit on the Human Body! We are beginning with the Skeletal System and will be making our way through the Muscular, Circlulatory, Digestive, and Nervous Systems. You'll have to know the purpose and main functions of each system. The Skeletal System's main job is to give us shape and to protect our organs.
In Science B:
We are making our way through the Human Body as well. We are talking about the intricacies of our ears now. Make sure you know the parts of the eye and their main functions: pupil, iris, cornea, lens, retina, optic nerve, and the vitreous body.
New Ear Vocabulary words: Pinna, Ear Canal, Ear Drum, Hammer, Anvil, Stirrup, Cochlea, and Auditory Nerve
You'll need to know what is included in the Outer Ear, the Middle Ear, and the Inner Ear. Make sure you can visualize how sound travels through your ear.
